I was born and raised in the Berkshires. I have two sisters and one brother and my parents whom all live in the Pittsfield area. The story on how I became an optometrist is quite simple. When I was about seven, my mom took me to a local optometrist and I was mesmerized with the whole exam and how he made me my first pair of “round” glasses for me to see. At that point, I knew I want to be an Optometrist. I did my undergraduate at University of Massachusetts in Amherst and then attended New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. After graduating, I did an internship at the VA Hospital in North Hampton. I bought a practice in Valatie, NY in 1987. I became an employee of Berkshire Eye Center in 1998.

I definitely like computer gadgets and like to work on projects myself. I enjoy the outdoors, karate, gardening, traveling and of course spending time with my family. My wife, Trina and I have two children: Lyssa, a sophomore in college, and Collin a sophomore in high school. We do not have any pets at this time, but we did have a blind dog for six years.

My favorite quote is: “Attitude reflects leadership.” I try not to let things bother me and live each day to the fullest.
